Our Story
The best furniture in the world already exists. It was built decades ago — and most of it is sitting in an estate sale right now, waiting for someone to recognize it.
Our Mission
We don't run a showroom. We run a sourcing operation. Every day starts the same way — estate sales, auction previews, private collections, and a network of people who call us when something good comes through. Most days we come home empty-handed. The days we don't make it worth it.
The pieces we carry were built by people who took their time. Solid joinery. Real wood. Designs that have only gotten better with age. We think finding them shouldn't require luck — just someone willing to do the legwork.
Each piece has a story — sometimes two or three, depending on its age — that it carried long before it found us. Preserving that history, that artistry, that craftsmanship and dedication, is the whole point.
"Things aren't built to last anymore — but they used to be."
— The HC Philosophy
How We Work
We're on the road every day — estate sales, auction previews, private collections, and a sourcing network built over years. Most of what we see doesn't make the cut. That's the point.
Solid joinery. Real wood. Hardware that still works. We look for the things that tell you a piece was built to outlast its maker — and we pass on anything that doesn't.
When a piece needs work, we do the work. But we don't over-restore — the patina, the wear, the marks of time are part of what you're buying. We fix what's broken without erasing what's real.
We price every piece based on what it's actually worth — not what the trend says, not what the auction estimate was. A well-built chair from 1962 shouldn't cost more than your rent just because someone decided it's collectible.
What We Carry
Clean lines, organic forms, and a seamless integration of function and beauty. MCM pieces represent a golden era of furniture design — and they're as relevant today as ever.
Pieces with character, patina, and a story to tell. Vintage furniture carries the warmth of lived-in spaces and the craftsmanship of an era when things were built to last.
True heirlooms — pieces that have witnessed generations of family life. Antique furniture represents the pinnacle of traditional craftsmanship and historical artistry.
Well-built modern pieces curated with the same HC standard — designed to last a lifetime, not a season. Because quality craftsmanship isn't exclusive to the past.
Restoration Philosophy
We never strip away the character that makes a piece worth owning — the patina, the joinery, the honest wear of a life well-used. That's not damage. That's the story.
Structural repairs use period-appropriate techniques and materials. We fix what needs fixing — loose joints, damaged hardware, compromised finishes — without over-restoring into something it never was.
A final treatment — oil, wax, or careful refinishing depending on the piece — brings it back to its best self. Not new. Better than new.
